Property Layout & Design Considerations
The semi-detached property featured a well-proportioned driveway, complete with a garage extension on the left hand side. The existing layout provided an excellent foundation for creating an attractive paved area that would improve both functionality and kerb appeal.
The driveway's proportions allowed us to implement the customer's desired herringbone pattern whilst incorporating practical features such as proper drainage and seamless connections to the public pavement.

Herringbone Pattern Design
The customer specifically requested a herringbone pattern for the central driveway area, which creates an attractive interlocking design that also provides excellent structural stability. The herringbone layout distributes load evenly across the surface, making it ideal for vehicle traffic.

Three-Tiered Border
Outer Border
The outer line of the border was created using dark vertical blocks that provide a strong definition between the driveway and surrounding areas. This outer edge creates a clean, professional finish that frames the entire paved area.

Middle & Inner Border Elements

Drainage Solution
Channel Installation
A drainage channel was installed at the foot of the driveway to manage water runoff from the sloped surface. This feature prevents water from accumulating on the paved area and protects both the driveway and the property from potential water damage.
Tarmac Strip
A small strip of tarmac was applied to create a seamless connection between the driveway border and the existing pavement. This detail provides a professional finish whilst creating a smooth transition that complements both surfaces.
