Creating A Stylish & Functional Design

We laid the bricks in a herringbone pattern for the main area, a popular choice for driveways due to its strength and interlocking structure. To add contrast and definition, we installed a border using grey bricks positioned both horizontally and vertically. This subtle design choice enhanced the overall look without being overpowering.

Addressing Challenges With Precision

Every project comes with unique challenges, and this one was no exception. One issue was the gradual incline of the driveway. Our team took careful measurements and adjusted the groundwork to ensure an even surface, preventing water pooling and uneven settling over time.

Another challenge was the installation of a drainage cover for utility access. The cover needed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding paving whilst remaining functional. We selected a recessed cover that allowed the paving to sit flush with the rest of the driveway. This meant the area remained neat whilst still allowing easy access when needed.

Block Paving Installation

The first step in the installation was excavating the existing surface. We removed any debris and prepared the base using compacted hardcore to provide a strong foundation. Next, we installed a layer of sharp sand and levelled it to create a stable surface for the bricks.

Once the groundwork was ready, we began laying the grey bricks in the agreed herringbone pattern. The border was carefully positioned to create a subtle contrast. We then used kiln-dried sand to fill the joints, locking the bricks in place and preventing movement over time.

A Durable & Low-Maintenance Driveway
